Held at the Conrad Seoul Hotel in Yeouido, Seoul, the conference will consist of five sessions covering major issues related to Korea's capital market in depth.

Among these issues are the Corporate Value-up Program, recent reforms in the Korean stock market, developments of the exchange-traded product (ETP) market and indexes, environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) disclosures and the future of the derivatives market. In the Corporate Value-up session, the participants will discuss utilizing new ETP products linked to the Korea Value-Up Index, under the theme of “Rediscovering the value of the Korean stock market and strategies for the successful implementation of the Corporate Value-up Program." The session will also include promotional booths for companies participating in the Corporate Value-up Program, one-on-one meetings with institutional investors, and roundtable meetings with chief financial officers.

The Korean stock market session, meanwhile, will review Korea’s efforts to make its stock market more attractive and discuss future enhancement measures. There will also be a separate roundtable meeting with global institutional investors to share global investment trends and freely exchange ideas on ways to strengthen the competitive edge of the Korean stock market. Under the theme of “Directions for the development of the ETP market,” the following session will discuss ways for the ETP market to achieve qualitative growth and make a leap forward as a global asset management market based on its quantitative growth so far.

Promotional booths for ETP providers and index calculation agencies will be set up, and there will also be a meeting with domestic ETP issuers to discuss current issues in the market. The ESG Session, meanwhile, will discuss the current status and future plans for ESG disclosures in Korea’s capital market and share exemplary cases of ESG disclosures by listed companies, with the aim of promoting ESG disclosures for sustainable growth. There will also be a session focused on derivatives, in which participants will share the latest trends in the global derivatives market and discuss new investment opportunities within Korea’s derivatives market.

“As this marks the first conference since the implementation of the Corporate Value-up Program, we hope it will serve as momentum for expansion of the program,” a spokesperson for the KRX said. “We hope to provide a platform for active communication and participation among institutional investors, securities firms, related organizations, listed companies and government authorities from both Korea and abroad,” he said, stressing that it will provide valuable insights and networking opportunities.
