It turns out that all the New York Knicks needed was more time on the court together, not less. The results in the last week of basketball have shown exactly that. © Mark J.
Rebilas-Imagn Images Thanks to another night of sharp-shooting from their collection of starters including a combined 70 points from Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns, the Knicks set a season-high in points in their 138-122 victory over the Pheonix Suns Wednesday night. New York began their West Coast road trip with a dominating performance early and often in the win. The Knicks put up a combined 44 points in the first quarter alone and even started 8-8 from the field as a team.
In total, Brunson recorded 36 points on an efficient 7-11 from downtown. Towns, on the other hand, recorded 34 points to go along with 10 rebounds in the win. Josh Hart (19), OG Anunoby (14), Mikal Bridges (16), and Cameron Payne (12) all rounded out New York's top scoring as well.
No starter for New York finished with a shooting percentage below 50%. In fairness to the struggling Suns, Kevin Durant has been out in recent games and did not play in Wednesday's loss.
Devin Booker led the scoring for the Suns with 33 points, but it wasn't enough to save Pheonix from their fifth-straight loss. The Knicks will be back on the court to try and win their fifth in a row Saturday evening in a contest on the road against the Utah Jazz.
