Kneecap at The Kennedy Centre (Image: Justin Kernoghan/ Belfast Live) Belfast rap group KNEECAP is set to perform at Coachella music festival next year. The famed event is an annual music and arts festival held in California in the Coachella Valley in the Colorado Desert and takes place over two over two weekends in April 2025. Mo Chara, Móglaí Bap and DJ Próvaí are set to bring their Irish-language music to the dessert on Friday, April 11 and April 18 with major headliners Lady Gaga, Missy Elliot and The Prodigy.

"We’ll be seeing you in the desert Coachella playing the Friday." 2024 has brought further worldwide success for the trio after the release of their award-winning film KNEECAP. Irish rap group KNEECAP Based on the original story of the Irish-language rap group , the film stars the band in their acting debuts alongside Academy Award nominated Michael Fassbender.
Set in West Belfast in 2019, it chronicles how fate brings the trio together and how they then go on to 'change the sound of Irish music forever'. Set to represent Ireland in the International Feature Film category at the upcoming 97th annual Academy Awards, it has been called a strong contender to make it into the final shortlist.
