Take note if you’re planning to take the KLIA Ekspres and KLIA Transit to the airport. The rail services connecting KLIA and KL city have faced a number of service disruptions in the past 24 hours due to acts of vandalism. According to a media statement released by Express Rail Link Sdn Bhd (ERL), they have encountered a total of four cable cuts along its rail line and disruption to their signalling system at Bandar Tasik Selatan Station.
These incidents have affected their train operations and passengers’ journey to their destination. As shared on their Facebook post , the first cable cut incident occurred at KM48.5 between Salak Tinggi Station and KLIA T1 around 6.
20am on 8th April. This is followed by a second cable cut incident at KM43.1 between Putrajaya & Cyberjaya and Salak Tinggi Station at 5:52pm which resulted all trains experiencing delays of 7-10 minutes.
At 9.57pm, all train services were suspended after another incident involving disruption to the signalling system at Bandar Tasik Selatan Station. This morning (9th April), there were two more cable cut incidents reported, one at KM47.
2km between Salak Tinggi Station and KLIA T1 at 4.47am and another one at KM40.6 between Salak Tinggi Station-Putrajaya & Cyberjaya.
ERL said their team is working around the clock to restore full service and they understand the impact these disruptions have had on their passengers. They apologised for any inconvenience or delay caused. It advised passengers to plan their journey accordingly and follow their social media channels for the latest train service updates.
