The No. 15 LSU Tigers hosted the No. 11 Alabama Crimson Tide in Week 11 for what was widely viewed as an elimination game from the College Football Playoff.

During the prime-time matchup, LSU fans took offense to what they believed was a mismanaged call by the officiating crew. While the Crimson Tide held a 21-6 lead over the Tigers in the third quarter, LSU bull-rushed Jalen Milroe and the Alabama offense. They came down with a sack on Milroe on third down, but referees threw a flag which was deemed a personal foul for a face mask penalty.

Following the call from the officiating crew, fans at Tiger Stadium threw trash on the field, which led to a delay of game. ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit, who was calling the game in the booth alongside Chris Fowler, was quick to comment on the fans' behavior. After the same incident occurred a few weeks ago in Austin, Texas, Herbstreit mentioned that the recent trend is "embarrassing" for college football.

"Why does that have to become a thing this year," Herbstreit said. "Some idiots do this at Texas and now all of a sudden we see it popping up in college football. Enough’s enough.

Clowns. What are you doing? It’s embarrassing to LSU. It’s embarrassing to college football.

Just around the country. Enough is enough. Herbstreit's reaction to the incident has been posted by a handful of college football fan accounts.

During the 30-15 loss for the Longhorns, fans threw trash on the field, reacting to a pass interference call. SEC commissioner Greg Sankey later spoke on the behavior from fans in Austin, Texas, mentioning that it will not be tolerated in "any SEC event.

" "The throwing of debris and resulting interruption of play that took place Saturday night cannot be part of any SEC event," Greg Sankey said . © Kirby Lee-Imagn Images LSU will now potentially face a $250k fine, which was the punishment that Texas received from their Week 8 incident. It will likely be reviewed by the Southeastern Conference in the coming days.
