Ahead of Week 4 of the college football season, ESPN's "College GameDay" host Kirk Herbstreit dropped a prediction on Texas Longhorns backup quarterback Arch Manning. Arch Manning is set to make his first career start on Saturday against the Lousiana-Monroe Warhawks in place of starter Quinn Ewers. Ewers exited with an injured abdomen in the team's Week 3, 56-7, victory over the UTSA Roadrunners.

Arch Manning replaced him, going on to throw for 223 yards, four touchdowns, and rush for a 67-yard touchdown. On Saturday's latest edition of "College GameDay," Herbstreit predicted Arch Manning would have a great game. "The internet's gonna blow up tonight because he is gonna go off," he said.

Many fans have already called for Arch Manning to be the team's permanent starter over Ewers. However, Herbstreit shared that Arch Manning's play won't have any effect on Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian's quarterback decision. Scott Wachter-Imagn Images "But Sark (Steve Sarkisian) got ahead of this," Herbstreit added.

"It doesn't matter what Arch (Arch Manning) does. We're going right back to Quinn Ewers. We're gonna go win a national championship.

We have huge aspirations for this year. I love how he got ahead of it." It is still unclear if Ewers will return for the Longhorns' Week 5 matchup with the Mississippi State Bulldogs, though ESPN insider Pete Thamel did provide an update on Saturday.

"I was told just yesterday that Quinn Ewers’ injured oblique has improved significantly this week," Thamel said. "We’ll get a sense early next week of whether he returns to practice, and in a week from today, when we’re in Tuscaloosa, I have a feeling we’ll be playing the ‘will he, won’t he’ game for the Mississippi State game." Arch Manning comes from a family of NFL legends.

He is the nephew of Peyton and Eli Manning and the grandson of Archie Manning. Arch Manning is in his sophomore season at Texas and has appeared in just three games for the team. In those three games, he's thrown for a total of 348 yards, five touchdowns, and no interceptions.

Kickoff on Saturday is scheduled for 8:00 pm. ET. Related: Nick Saban Takes Clear Stance on Arch Manning's College Football Decision.
