Prayagraj: Railways would set up tourist kiosks at Prayagraj Junction and other stations of the division during Maha Kumbh-2025 where visitors can get information about places of religious and historical importance in Sangam city and adjoining areas. "The aim behind the step is to boost tourism. Such kiosks would also be opened at Subedarganj, Rambagh, Naini, Jhunsi, Sangam, Prayag, and Phaphamau railway stations," said CPRO NCR, Shashi Kant Tripathi.

Around 40 crore people from all over the country and world are expected to visit Maha Kumbh, and a major chunk of them would be coming through railways. Hence this initiative has been taken, Tripathi said. Moreover, tourists will also be offered the services of guides at the kiosks.

This will produce employment opportunities for locals. "The guides will take the tourists from across the world to places in Prayagraj which are lesser known but have interesting facts and mythology connected to them," he said. The kiosks will be functional round-the-clock.

Railway officials said efforts will be made to make the tourists visit other places of interest like Maharishi Bhardwaj Ashram, Shringverpur, Sujawan Dev Temple, Nagwasuki Temple, Ulta Kila, Lakshagrih, Khusro Bagh, Garhwa Fort, Bharatkup, Tara Mandal, Ashoka Pillar, Chandrashekhar Shaheed Sthal, Anand Bhawan, Nagwasuki, Dwadash Madhaw, Pandeshwarnath Dham, and other such places.
