The Kimil RFL in Banz, North Waghi District, Jiwaka Province has celebrated its 10th Anniversary. The league hosted a three day tournament for nine men and three women teams. The tournament for the Anniversary Cup was to commemorate the league’s 10 years existence in rugby league in a PNGRFL sanctioned competition.

Kossam Kofi Rabbittors claimed the coveted Anniversary cup for the men team while Galang Spartans claim the Anniversary Cup for the women. Michael Tee, the founder and league president said that the League has produced players for Digicel Cup, the PNG Hunters and the PNG Kumuls since it’s inception IN 2014. He said, it is an honour for the league to produce a good number of quality players who have made it to the pinnacle it the game in PNG.



Tee further said he has a dream for the youths in the area to excel in their lives through sports. “I am creating a platform and pathway for the youths to excel in their rugby league career”, he said. He said the Kimil League has producing players in the likes of current PNG Kumul winger Elizah Roltinga , Job Kar, Saki Peter, Alex Max, Joe Frank amongst a few others who successful made it through the top level.

If they can make it why not you, he told the youths. “If you are serious you can achieve your dream in rugby,” he added..
