Sheppard, a Mississippi State transfer, suffered a stress reaction injury to her lower leg in between LSU's two late October exhibition games.

"That will help us," Mulkey said. "Now, will she be rusty? Sure she will, but I have to think her energy on the defensive end matters and will make us better." In LSU's first exhibition game, Sheppard tallied 12 points, six rebounds, six steals and three assists after connecting on five of her eight field goal attempts.

Sheppard appeared in 35 games last season for the Bulldogs, a year in which she averaged 5.0 points, 2.1 assists and 1.

4 steals per night. She was also one of five Southeastern Conference players to tally at least five steals in four separate games. On Wednesday, LSU defeated Tulane 85-74 after holding off a late fourth-quarter rally.

The Tigers will next jet down to The Bahamas to play in the Baha Mar Hoops Pink Flamingo Championship. There, LSU will face Washington at 12:30 Monday. A win over the Huskies would match it up on Wednesday with the winner of a game between Southern and No.
