One might think it was a fever dream to find themselves in a room with Mick Jagger, Colman Domingo, Demi Moore, and Leonardo DiCaprio—but for Chanel and Charles Finch during Oscars weekend, creating a little pre-ceremony magic is simply tradition. Their annual gathering, the most coveted invitation ahead of Hollywood’s biggest night, always draws the starriest crowd—and this year was no exception. Held at the iconic Polo Lounge at the Beverly Hills Hotel, the event brought together actors, musicians, directors, producers, writers, and industry influencers for an intimate celebration.

The evening was a family affair: Adrien Brody arrived alongside his parents, while sisters Elle and Dakota Fanning were each other’s dates in coordinating Chanel looks. Jeff Goldblum and his wife greeted Kim Kardashian, marveling at her Chanel haute couture fall 1992 gown originally worn by Helena Christensen on the runway, and saying simply: “Let us take this all in!” There were also plenty of stars nominated at this year’s Oscars to toast to throughout the night. Demi Moore made her entrance onto the patio in a look from Chanel’s spring 2025 haute couture collection—a structured peplum jacket and tailored shorts—and was immediately met with an embrace from fellow best actress nominee Fernanda Torres.

“We did it!” they exclaimed in unison. With their months-long tour of the global awards circuit finally coming to a close, it seemed the actors were finally able to relax a little. “We may not get out of our pajamas for a few days after this,” Moore quipped, to which Torres responded: “For a whole year!” Gabrielle Chanel’s deep connection to cinema is well documented—she collaborated with some of the most visionary filmmakers of her time—so it’s only fitting that, in partnership with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Chanel is continuing that legacy.

(To further celebrate the world of film, the brand is supporting the Academy Museum’s Family Matinee screenings, making them free to the public throughout March.) But of course, it was Chanel’s status as a Hollywood red carpet go-to that dazzled most, with Lupita Nyong’o, Riley Keough, and Maude Apatow all wearing looks from the maison’s recent collections to attend the bash. As the night wound down and guests enjoyed the Polo Lounge’s signature mint chocolate chip sundaes, Zoey Deutch said goodbye to Lily-Rose Depp—but not without a reminder of the big event ahead.

“Aren’t you presenting tomorrow?” Deutch called out as Depp prepared to head off into the night. “Good luck!”.
