Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner were reportedly invited to blast off into space with Blue Origin's all-female crew but decided against it, citing safety worries and conflicting schedules, according to The U.S. Sun.
The star-studded space voyage included celebrities like Katy Perry and TV personality Gayle King, along with Jeff Bezos' partner Lauren Sanchez, ex-NASA engineer Aisha Bowe, space health guru Amanda Nguyen, and producer Kerianne Flynn. They took off from a West Texas site, skimmed the fringes of the cosmos, and then made their way back to Earth without a hitch. While Kris Jenner was there to witness the historic moment, she and Kim chose not to fly, despite having seats up for grabs.
"Kris and Kim were offered to go on the Blue Origin," spilled the source. "Kris absolutely did not want to go for safety concerns and not wanting to put herself in a risky position being a mom and a grandma. "Kim was more open to it but had scheduling conflicts," the source continued.
"Maybe in the future, especially seeing how much of a success this flight was," reports the Express US . Kris, who is tight with Bezos and Sanchez, attended the event with her daughter Khloe Kardashian and Oprah Winfrey by her side. At the launch, Kris expressed her excitement: "This is a really unique experience and we're just so honored to be here to support them and watch this amazing part of history, and I'm so proud of [Lauren].
" Khloe Kardashian, at 40, shared her inspiring perspective: "I just think it's really whatever you dream of it is within our reach - especially in our day and age. Dream big, wish for the stars and maybe one day you can be amongst them." Katy Perry approached her space flight with a deep sense of personal mission.
A source revealed, "A lot of people asked her why she did it since she has a daughter?" continuing, "Katy was adamant she had to do it because of her daughter." "She wanted to set an example of what a strong, fearless, multifaceted woman with no limits can look like. She was so excited and really trusted the process.
She didn't seem fearful at all." The spacecraft soared to the Karman line, known as the brink of space, and offered those aboard a few minutes of weightlessness before the return journey home kicked off. Upon touchdown, Katy stepped out from the space vessel, a daisy in hand as homage to her four year old daughter Daisy, planting a kiss on terra firma then addressing awaiting media.
Reflecting on her otherworldly rendition, Perry expressed, "I've covered that song in the past and, obviously, my higher self is always steering the ship because I had no clue that one day I would decide to sing a little bit of that in space," in reference to singing 'What A Wonderful World' during the spaceflight.
