Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner were invited to join the all-female Blue Origin space flight that launched Monday morning, but turned down the opportunity due to safety concerns and scheduling issues, a source tells The U.S. Sun.

The six-woman mission, which included Katy Perry , Gayle King, Jeff Bezos ’ fiance Lauren Sanchez, former NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bowe, bioastronautics expert Amanda Nguyen, and producer Kerianne Flynn, launched from West Texas and briefly passed the edge of space before landing safely. Though Kris Jenner was present at the launch, she and Kim opted out of participating despite being offered seats.
