JTBC’s upcoming drama “Heavenly Ever After” has offered a glimpse into the powerful partnership between Kim Hye Ja and Lee Jung Eun ! “Heavenly Ever After” is an upcoming transcendent romance starring Kim Hye Ja as Lee Hae Sook, a woman who reunites with her husband in heaven after death. Unlike the other residents of heaven—including her husband Go Nak Joon ( Son Suk Ku ), who has chosen to return to the 30-something version of himself—Lee Hae Sook makes the unusual choice to keep her 80-year-old appearance. In the newly released stills, Lee Hae Sook and Lee Young Ae (Lee Jung Eun) make a striking entrance at a bustling market.
Known as a feared veteran moneylender and her right-hand successor, the duo’s presence alone sends ripples through the scene. The tension is palpable as they face off with a fruit stand owner who seems displeased, with shattered watermelons on the ground hinting at a brewing confrontation. Yet, Lee Hae Sook stands firm and composed, while Lee Young Ae looks ready to charge—highlighting their formidable chemistry and razor-sharp teamwork.
But even the strongest of bonds face the inevitability of parting. One still captures Lee Hae Sook meeting a mysterious man, previously teased as a guide to the afterlife. The moment she lays eyes on him, Hae Sook realizes that her time has come.
Another photo shows Lee Young Ae alone in a quiet funeral hall, sitting solemnly beside Hae Sook’s portrait. The production team commented, “This drama begins with the death of our main character Lee Hae Sook. The first episode will shed light on who she is and the life she lived,” adding, “With bold transformations from Kim Hye Ja and Lee Jung Eun, the show will highlight the unique ‘womance’ between these two characters, who are family and partners.
