Kids shouldn't have to leave community for fun": Neighborhood hosts festival hoping to spark peace

Seven and nine year old boys are recovering after police say someone shot into the car they were traveling in. Chapman lives in that neighborhood but now she's taking action to uplift her community. “It takes a village, it takes people to stand up in your community , and try to do the right thing,” stated Chapman.

She hosted a Fall Festival titled "Peace in the streets featuring, a bouncy house, free food, and horseback riding. The event welcomed people of all ages with the goal of spreading peace. “Kids should not have to leave their community to go somewhere else to enjoy festivals and carnivals and all that we should be able to do it right here in our own community,” explained Chapman.



Chapman says she hopes to inspire others to uplift the youth in their community. “We all need help and anyone that is trying to make a difference, please contact me we can do events like this year , it takes a village and it starts here,” stated Chapman..
