On Thursday afternoon, CAF announced the round of fixtures of the first preliminary phase of the 2024/25 CAFCL tournament. A total of 59 clubs from 47 African countries will be participating in this year's Champions League, but five of these teams will enter the tournament in the second preliminary phase of the competition, as per Due to CAF's seeding process, defending champions Al Ahly (Egypt), Esperance de Tunis (Tunisia), Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa), TP Mazembe (DR Congo), and Petro de Luanda (Angola) are the five exempted clubs and will therefore only begin their participation in the second preliminary phase.
