From players to coaching personnel, Amakhosi have made wholesale changes ahead of the 24/25 season following a disastrous campaign that saw them finish 10th on the Premiership log table – their lowest finish in the PSL era. | Chiefs roped in Tunisian-Belgian mentor Nasreddine Nabi who won back-to-back trebles with Tanzania giants Young Africans. Alongside him is an all-new technical team.

In terms of the squad, Amakhosi have made as many as seven signings including academy graduate Njabulo Blom who returns on a season long loan from MLS outfit St. Louis City. Others include Gaston Sirino, Bradley Cross, Rushwin Dortley, Inacio Migue and Fiacre Ntwari.

Speaking to journalists at the launch of Kaizer Chiefs’ Twinning Project in partnership with South African Correctional Services and the FIFA Foundation on Wednesday, Motaung said there’s a buzz of excitement at the Glamour Boys’ camp ahead of the new season. "It’s definitely an exciting time, you could see it from our tour in Turkey and just all the build up. The players we have signed, and the new technical team," Motaung said.

"There's definitely a real, real new resurgence. "I’d say to our supporters, it’s about working together collectively now, surprising each other through this journey. "But I’m excited by the changes, excited even by our young [Njabulo] Blom coming back home.

I’m excited that there is a real revival around the Village right now. "I’m happy that that team is restructuring, I mean I’m part of the board that is making sure that the investments are being made to make sure that the team is restructuring but I think we need to give it time." | Chiefs are set to kick off the Betway Premiership season with a clash against Marumo Gallants on 14 September.
