Manchester United have reportedly identified a replacement for Erik ten Hag in case the team does not improve in the coming months.

Ten Hag signed a new deal before the start of the campaign despite a disastrous Premier League campaign, where the team finished eighth. The Red Devils did end the 2023/24 season with an FA Cup triumph over Man City, which certainly helped the Dutchman's case. However, United have had a mixed start to the campaign following their goalless draw against Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Should the situation worse over time, the club have identified former Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri as a replacement, according to Calciomercato. Allegri remains a free agent after he was sacked by Juventus at the end of last season. The report adds that the Manchester outfit want to have a contingency plan in place incase things go pear-shaped.

Allegri is reportedly a big admirer of the Premier League and has dreams of coaching in England one day. Meanwhile, former Chelsea and Bayern Munich coach Thomas Tuchel reportedly remains on the club's radar, having already had discussions in the off-season..
