Ntwari has taken over as first choice at Chiefs – a signing necessitated by the club’s decision not to retain Itumeleng Khune on a playing contract. The 25-year-old has since moved on to play all three matches to date at Chiefs and is also already a regular in the Rwanda national team. "There was absolutely no doubt about his goalkeeping talent from the day he arrived at the club from Rwanda," says Greg Etafia, the TS Galaxy goalkeeper coach In his three years at Galaxy where he took over from Lucky Shiburi, Etafia has already had Melusi Buthelezi moving to Orlando Pirates before Ntwari also made the switch to Chiefs.

So, for Etafia, he speaks with interest about the 25-year-old. "It then became a matter of guiding him through so that he gets to improve on his trade because goalkeeping is a specialist position that comes with a lot of focus training. "He needed to come of his shell and the good part about him is that he was always willing to work hard.

"Remember he played his first game in the cup against (Mamelodi) Sundowns and from there never looked back which ultimately led to the move to Chiefs. "Credit to the coach (Sead Ramovic) for believing in me when I said he can play him. "Going to Chiefs is an opportunity to better his life and career.

"That has always been his goal when he came here, and it is also the same for the club president (Tim Sukazi) that when opportunities come with the right offer, he never holds back any player. | "Knowing him, he is not a guy to look back and so should continue working his way up. "He must keep on working and is willing to do that.

"The boy is humble and has the talent," says Etafia..
