GaadiWaadi -In adult occupant protection, the Kia Syros has scored an impressive 30.21 out of 32 with the child occupant racking up 44.42 out of 49 in Bharat NCAPThe Kia Syros endures an appreciable performance in both adult and child occupant safety.
Weighing in at 1,577 kg, it’s not the heaviest in class, but it uses its design smartly to absorb impacts where it counts. In adult occupant protection, the Syros has scored an impressive 30.21 out of 32.
The frontal offset crash test alone brought in 14.21 points and the side barrier test achieved the full 16.00.
It indicates a well-managed crumple zone and cabin integrity that minimises risk to those up front. The Syros comes standard with frontal airbags, seatbelt pre-tensioners and load-limiters for both driver and passenger. However, the absence of knee airbags and side pelvis protection is worth noting.
Despite that, for an SUV in this category, the results lean heavily toward strong real-world safety. The child protection is where the Syros truly shines, racking up 44.42 out of a potential 49.
Kia tested the Joie i-Spin 360 child seats in both the 18-month and 3-year-old dummy tests with rearward-facing ISOFIX systems providing near-perfect dynamic performance scores. The installation was straightforward in the second-row outboard positions, though ISOFIX availability doesn’t extend to the centre seat or third row—though the Syros doesn’t offer a third row anyway. There is a manual airbag cut-off switch for when a child seat is used up front, a small but vital detail that shows attention to real-life usage scenarios.

There’s electronic stability control based on global safety regulations, a pedestrian protection system and seat belt reminders for both front occupants. Side curtain airbags are present, offering added coverage in lateral impacts.
However, the vehicle omits side pelvis airbags and integrated child restraint systems which are beginning to appear in more premium segments.Still, the suite of features provided as standard across all variants puts it ahead of several rivals in this size and price range. The rear-seat safety has been thought through with ISOFIX available at the outer seats of the second row.
There is no integrated child seat option and certain CRS systems were incompatible with some seating positions but overall, the Syros passed installation assessments where expected. Also Read: Kia Sales Stood At 25,000+ Units In March – Sonet, Seltos, Carens, SyrosThe child seats from Group 0+ to Group II/III were tested using both belted and ISOFIX systems with good compatibility and stability during testing. The dynamic tests yielded strong results on both front and side impact simulations, making the Syros a confident choice for small families prioritising passive safety.
