KUALA LUMPUR: QSR Brands (M) Holdings Bhd reported a 25 per cent year-on-year (YoY) revenue growth in the first quarter (Q1) of 2025 backed by the execution of transformation strategies and reaffirms its commitment to sustainable growth.Partly owned by Johor Corp Bhd (JCorp), QSR operates KFC restaurants in Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei and Cambodia, as well as Pizza Hut outlets in Malaysia and Singapore.The group said having navigated challenges from Covid-19 lockdowns, commodity price inflation and rising costs, it is now well-positioned to address recent issues related to Middle East sentiment.
It stated in a statement today that no sales processes are currently being pursued or planned, noting encouraging signs of recovery in Q1 2025."The company now has a playbook for shifting tides that create turbulence. And it's all about execution of strategies to ensure a robust recovery," it said.
JCorp president and chief executive officer Datuk Syed Mohamed Syed Ibrahim said despite a challenging market environment, QSR Brands demonstrated remarkable resilience and agility.Syed Mohamed said the company has not only weathered the storm but thrived by remaking their business model and improving market sentiment through strategic approaches. "This success is further solidified by their strategic decision to enter a long-term strategic partnership with Hy-Fresh Holdings Sdn Bhd, allowing QSR Brands to streamline operations and focus on its core strengths.
"The results are evident in their growing sales, a clear indication of their ability to adapt, innovate and deliver," he said. According to QSR, its strategic decision to temporarily close selected outlets to optimise resources in trade zones with higher customer engagement has contributed positively in the financial year 2024 (FY24).Since Q4 2024, it said there have been positive results hence the strategic plan to reopen these temporarily closed stores in FY25.
