In a report published by Korea’s Jumpball, Goyang is in full support of Quiambao’s decision. Following the La Salle’s product’s first season in the Korean Basketball League, he has the freedom to do what he aims to do in the offseason while being under contract. “He has long wanted to take on the challenge of the NBA Summer League,” an anonymous Goyang official told Jumpball.
“The club respected the player’s wishes and gave its approval. The two-time UAAP champion, though, has a contractual obligation to return to Goyang after his trip to the US. After signing with the KBL team last year, Quiambao had said that it’s his goal to make it to the NBA. In his first season with the Sono Skygunners, Quiambao played like a professional beyond his years, posting 16.
