Kevin Dasom shares what makes him 'gigil'

The Oxford English Dictionary has added around 600 new words and phrases in its March 2025 update, including 11 Filipino words.In the update posted on its website, Oxford Dictionary noted "untranslatable words" are words and phrases in one language that don't have direct English equivalents.One of the Filipino words added was “gigil,” which, according to Oxford Dictionary, is originally Tagalog, but is now also used in Philippine English.

The dictionary described “gigil” as “a feeling we get when we see someone or something cute, a feeling so intense that it gives us the irresistible urge to tightly clench our hands, grit our teeth, and pinch or squeeze whomever or whatever it is we find so adorable, whether it be a chubby-cheeked baby or a fluffy little kitten.”During the Kapuso Mall Show last Sunday March 30, GMANetwork.com asked GMA Afternoon Prime stars what makes them "gigil" in connection with the block programming's current campaign.



According to Binibining Marikit actor Kevin Dasom, his main focus right now is his overall health so he can be more energized and better equipped to tackle challenges in his work as an artist.He said, "My main goal right now is staying healthy mentally, physically, and emotionally to be able to do my job the best I can, especially for GMA Sparkle and for Mercator and Empire. You know, just providing good value for everyone onscreen.

This is my first teleserye in the Philippines and I'm hoping to do a good enough job to continue my career here."Furthermore, Kevin wants to maintain a healthy work-life balance by traveling more when able.He added, "Also I'm trying to go to as many countries as I can.

I wanna go to America this year to see my couple of relatives out there. So, if the timing is right then, it's good will. Yeah, I'm going out there.

"Kevin is a Thai-Irish model/actor. He is the reigning Manhunt International winner. He won the 22nd edition of the competition in 2024.
