Akshay Kumar, R Madhavan, and Ananya Panday visited Jallianwala Bagh to honor massacre victims. Kesari Chapter 2, directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, focuses on C Sankaran Nair's fight for justice. As Kesari Chapter 2 inches closer to its big release, the film’s lead stars, Akshay Kumar, R Madhavan, and Ananya Panday, recently took a meaningful pause from promotions to visit Jallianwala Bagh in Amritsar.

Their tribute was a powerful gesture to honour the lives lost in one of the most harrowing events of India’s colonial history – the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. For those who may not remember the details, the tragedy occurred on April 13, 1919, when thousands of unarmed Indians had gathered peacefully to celebrate Baisakhi. Without warning, General Dyer ordered British troops to open fire on the crowd.

The firing continued until every bullet was spent. In the chaos, many people jumped into a well inside the garden in an attempt to escape, only to meet a tragic fate there as well. This year marked the 106th anniversary of the massacre.

The actors’ visit wasn’t just about remembering history but also tied directly into the powerful story that Kesari Chapter 2 tells. The film focuses on C Sankaran Nair, a bold and respected member of the Viceroy’s Council, who resigned in protest after the massacre. He didn’t stop there—he took legal action against the British Empire, accusing them of genocide.

The film explores Nair’s relentless pursuit of justice and his personal sacrifices to hold the Crown accountable. During their visit, the cast and crew talked about how important it is to share this overlooked chapter of India’s freedom struggle with the world. They believe that Nair’s story deserves far more recognition than it has received.

Speaking at a recent promotional event, Akshay Kumar shared his hopes that the film could even spark an official apology from the British government. He didn’t hold back when addressing controversial remarks made by General Dyer’s great-granddaughter, who shockingly referred to the victims as “looters." Akshay stated, “I hope she watches this film and understands what really happened that day.

" Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, Kesari Chapter 2 features Akshay Kumar in the lead, with R Madhavan and Ananya Panday playing pivotal roles. The film is being brought to life by a powerhouse team of producers including Hiroo Yash Johar, Aruna Bhatia, Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Amritpal Singh Bindra, and Anand Tiwari. It’s presented under the banners of Dharma Productions, Cape of Good Films, and Leo Media Collective, with co-producers Marijke deSouza, Somen Mishra, and Vedant Baali.

The screenplay has been penned by Karan Singh Tyagi and Amritpal Singh Bindra. With its gripping narrative, emotional core, and a mission to bring untold stories to light, Kesari Chapter 2 is not just a film—it’s a tribute, a truth, and a torchbearer of memory..
