Kesari 2 press conference: Akshay Kumar says, “I want British government, King Charles to watch the film. Once they do, apology will automatically follow”; also reveals that British actor Simon Paisley Day called General Dyer, “a beep-hole”

Akshay Kumar, Ananya Panday, producers Karan Johar and Apoorva Mehta and director Karan Singh Tyagi attended the press conference of Kesari 2 at an aesthetically pleasing cinema hall in Mumbai. The film is based on the shocking Jallianwala Bagh massacre. Recently, British Conservative MP Bob Blackman called on the British government to acknowledge the atrocities committed and offer a formal apology.When asked about it, Akshay Kumar said, “A lot of things will change. I am not here with a begging bowl and asking for an apology. But I want them to at least watch this film and realize the mistake. The other things will flow automatically from their mouth. The apology is bound to happen (after they see the film). Hence, I just want them to watch this film.”He added, “I want the British government to watch this film. I want King Charles to watch the film. They should see what happened. The rest will follow automatically.”Akshay Kumar also talked about Simon Paisley Day, the actor who played General Dyer saying, “This guy played the role of General Dyer (pointing at Simon’s picture on the poster). He told me something interesting. He knew a lot about the massacre. He just told me that General Dyer was a ‘beep-hole’. Ab aap samaj lijiye kya bola hoga!”He continued, “There are many Britishers who were shocked and disgusted by the episode. My coach Jennifer is also a British girl.” Director Karan Singh Tyagi added, “When we were reading the script, Jennifer had tears in her eyes. She had tears of anguish.
