The mum-of-five , 44, shocked her children with two sausage dogs for DJ and Max's recent birthdays. The former Atomic Kitten star admitted that her original plan was only to get one four-legged furry family member for the joint birthday gift, but she ended up with two after falling in love with the litter. The proud mum also gushed about "how grateful" her children were at the shock gifts.
Writing in her exclusive column for OK! , Kerry wrote: "So, we’ve got two new additions to the family - Phoebe and Joey the sausage dogs! It was DJ’s 11th birthday last Friday and it’s Max’s 17th birthday this Friday, so the puppies were an early gift for them both." She continued: "My plan was only to get one, but Heidi and I went to visit the litter and ended up with two - we couldn’t help it. They’re so adorable, they just sleep and cuddle us all day long!" Kerry continued by explaining that her daughter DJ wanted a reptile for a birthday present but Kerry wasn't so sure and decided on the furry animals instead.
Back in 2022, Kerry already had four pooches and revealed that they all slept in her bed at the time. She wrote in her column: "DJ originally wanted a gecko for her birthday, but I wasn’t keen on getting her one as I’ve heard they’re a lot of work. And Max has wanted a sausage dog for his whole life, so his face when I brought them home was priceless.
It was lovely to see how happy they were and how grateful my children are." Kerry is a proud mum of five, sharing kids Molly, 23, and Lilly Sue, 22, with first husband Brian McFadden, Heidi, 17, and Max, 16, with second husband Mark Croft and youngest DJ, 10, with late husband George Kay. Kerry has had a turbulent time in recent months following her shock split from ex Ryan to OK! in November, where she confirmed that he had moved out of their Cheshire mansion after a breach of trust happened between them.
The pair met on a dating app in 2018, and got engaged two years later. Ryan popped the question in Spain on her 40th during a family holiday, asking for the blessing of her five children. Prior to their split, the mum said she was fearful of becoming a wife again after her previous marriages ended in disaster.
She first married Westlife star Brian McFadden in 2002, but they divorced four years later. In 2007, the I'm a Celebrity..
. Get Me Out of Here! winner Kerry tied the knot with Mark Croft, and they welcomed two children together before divorcing in 2011. Kerry then married former rugby league player George Kay in 2014, and they had a child before splitting three years later.
George passed away in 2019. Kerry then moved on with Ryan, with the pair enjoying a whirlwind romance that appeared to take a downward spiral at the end of last year. But the star now appears happy as she focuses on her family and their new furry friends as she admitted that they love to "cuddle" all day long.
