June 4, 1936—April 12, 2025 Kerma Gay Olson, 88, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2025, at Edgewood Spring Creek in American Falls, Idaho. Kerma was the oldest of two children, she was born on June 4, 1936, in Lewiston, Idaho, to Kermit and Martha Gay Olson. Kerma went to elementary school in Moscow and Nez Perce, Idaho.

She later went to beauty school in Lewiston, Idaho. She married Howard Olson on October 11, 1958, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Together they lived there in Moscow, Idaho, and Lewiston, Idaho, and moved to Albion, Idaho, with their three boys.



While living in Albion, Kerma worked at Moto De in Burley and later Albion Elementary for 21 years until she retired in 2001. In the community, she was past President of the Four-Leaf Clover Club, was active with The Order of the Eastern Star and she volunteered at the Albion Library. Kerma was an avid reader.

She enjoyed crocheting blankets, and clothes for dolls and barbies, and she embroidered many towels and pillowcases. She loved to travel and especially spend time with her children, grand, and great-grandchildren. Kerma is survived by her three sons Bryan (Angela) Olson (Hillsboro, OR), Russell (Bonnie) Olson (Chubbuck, ID), and Greg (Suzette) Olson (Idaho Falls, ID), eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and one brother David Olson (Benica, CA).

She was preceded in death by her husband Howard Olson, both her parents Kermit and Martha Gay Olson, and one grandchild Michael Olson. Family will greet friends from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m.

on Friday, April 18, at the LDS Church on 889 Main St., Albion, Idaho 83311. Interment will follow at the Albion City Cemetery in Albion, Idaho.
