Kendrick, 37, wore a custom blue, white, and red Martine Rose varsity jacket matched with a pair of $1,300 Celine boot-cut flares for the performance which were originally meant to be Timothee Chalamet's jeans. .
He accessorized with a stack of flashy chains and sneakers. The Not Like Us rapper shares the same stylist, Taylor McNeil, a s Hollywood icon Timothee , and the pricey denim element of his look was initially set aside for the movie star. Now it seems the style choice was one of the biggest fashion trend moments in the last decade, resulting in a 1011% rise in searches on Google, according to new research.
The research was conducted by social casino site PlayFame.com and analyzed Google Trends to identify iconic celebrity fashion moments that have made the biggest impact. The research showed key looks included Sabrina Carpenter’s babydoll dress from her ‘Short n’ Sweet’ tour, which caused a 56% rise in searches.
Justin Bieber also made his way into the top trends after the announcement of his collaboration with Crocs, which saw a 125% increase in searches. However, all of these other moments have paled in comparison to the boost in searches Kendrick sparked with the women's size 29 denim fit he stepped out onto the stage in. A PlayFame spokesperson told the US Mirror : "Celebrities have a huge influence on social trends and you can see that reflected in the search spikes following big fashion moments, particularly Kendrick’s Super Bowl appearance in flared jeans, with over a 1000% in search for these denims the next day.

” Speaking to Page Six shortly after the performance, an insider confirmed that Kendrick and Timothee's stylist had reportedly selected a bunch of denim styles for Kendrick's Grammy and Super Bowl appearances, but it was the size 29 Celine women’s pants that hugged the rapper’s hips perfectly "despite his size 33 waist". While fans fiercely debated if the pants were bootcut or bell bottoms, the Celine site describes them as “flared surf jeans in summer dazed wash.” Despite the style, fans also pointed out that the jeans were way too long for the Humble rapper - which may be explained by the huge height difference between him and the Dune star.
Timothee, 29, reportedly stands at 5-foot-10, while Kendrick is said to be 5-foot-5. Aside from rocking women's pants, Kendrick was also the first solo rap artist to ever perform on music’s biggest stage.
