Kendrick Lamar is opening this week's Billboard 200 at No. 1 with GNX.The surprise album earned a total of 319,000 equivalent album units in its first week, including 285,000 in streaming equivalent album units (379.92 million on-demand streams of the songs), 32,000 in album sales and 2,000 in track equivalent album units. GNX is 2024's sixth-largest opening week so far by equivalent album units, holds the record for the biggest streaming week of the year for any R&B/hip-hop album, the year's second-biggest debut streaming week and 2024's third-largest streaming week overall.
