Kenan Thompson has no plans on leaving Saturday Night Live – ever!If you didn’t know, the 46-year-old actor has been on NBC sketch comedy series in 2003, making him the longest-tenured cast member in the show’s history. ..“It would be cool if I never left the show,” Kenan told Entertainment Weekly.
“That’d be crazy.”Over the years, Kenan has set several milestones for himself on the show, including making it to 20 seasons, which he did in 2022, and making it to the show’s 50th anniversary, which took place earlier this year.“I guess the only other milestone would be just to be the forever cast member.
Just never leave the show,” Kenan said. “I don’t really know. Thirty [seasons] is like, okay, that’s just another number kind of thing.
Twenty was just such a thing that nobody had ever done. People had gotten into their teens before, but nobody had gotten all the way up to 20. And then I was close to doing it.
Once I started getting into 17, I was like, well, if I can, I would love to stick around till 20. And now here we are at 22, so I don’t know.” When asked who’s more likely to leave first, him or showrunner Lorne Michaels, Kenan responded, “That’s a great question.
I have no idea. I feel like we’ll both just ride until the wheels fall off.” Kenan also recently addressed musical guest Morgan Wallen‘s awkward early exit.
