Jeopardy! host Ken Jennings has no plans to uproot his family and move closer to Los Angeles so he doesn't have to commute thousands of miles every week to do his job

Ken Jennings might have a huge distance to deal with when it comes to his commute for work but the Jeopardy! host has no plans on moving. According to reports the popular presenter doesn't intend on heading to Los Angeles with his family for the job, with his wife and children instead residing in the Seattle, Washington area where he was born. Ken has been jetting to Los Angeles weekly to film Jeopardy! since he took over the role from Alex Trebek in November 2020.

The show tapes fives games a day on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at the Sony Studios lot in Culver City, CA. They usually record three in the morning followed by a further two in the afternoon. While Ken has a property he stays in when in Los Angeles he still permanently resides in Washington and according to reports has no plans to change that routine for now.

An insider has revealed that Ken has previously confessed to the Jeopardy! audience that being away from his family is the hardest part of the job for him. They told The U.S.

Sun: “Ken was honest about being away from his family being the hardest part of the job. He said that despite how tough it is to be away, which only gets harder the busier his schedule was, he has no plans on moving to LA. “He was adamant that his family has built a great life in Seattle they’re happy with.

LA is not for them." While it seems excessive the flight time from Seattle to Los Angeles is only just under three hours. Ken was born in Seattle in May 1974 but spent much of his childhood overseas due to his father working as an international lawyer.

The family lived in a number of places including South Korea and Singapore. However, he returned to the US to attend college in his home state at the University of Washington, before transferring to Brigham Young University. Ken met his wife Mindy at BYU and the couple got married in 2000.

They share two children, son Dylan, and daughter, Caitlin. While Ken has enjoyed his wealth with a lavish home, he remains fairly down to earth and even still drives his Toyota Corolla. An insider previously admitted that while fame doesn't come naturally to him Ken has been working on his persona and how he interacts with fans.

They said: "Ken is a national celebrity, and has been for years, but he is decidedly not a creature of Hollywood and has purposely chosen to raise his family in Seattle instead of Los Angeles. “But he isn't a hermit and loves interacting with real Jeopardy! fans that he crosses paths with online and during his frequent commutes. People have misconstrued his tweets in the past, and it's been an issue he's had to work on.

But he's very good with off-camera, in-person interactions - people who meet him out in public usually come away with a smile on their face.” Click here to follow the Mirror US on Google News to stay up to date with all the latest news, sports and entertainment stories.
