World-rated strawweight Keito Yamakita of Japan scored his third straight victory following a unanimous decision win over Filipino MMA fan-favorite Lito Adiwang at ONE Fight Night 28, Saturday in Bangkok, Thailand. Both fighters came out guns blazing but it was Yamakita who came out on top early after he scored a takedown. They exchanged strikes while on the ground before Yamakita attempted a choke though he was unable to force a tap.
It was a wild start for Adiwang in round two after he missed landing a flying kick that saw them end up on the mat again. The Filipino eventually got out of the tight spot but seemingly lost steam from the scramble. Adiwang landed big shots in the opening minute of round three only to get taken down again to get grinded on the mat.
All three judges saw the fight for Yamakita after three five-minute rounds, improving his mixed martial arts record to 11-1. —JKC, GMA Integrated News.
