Katy Perry and 5 other women will be part of Blue Origin’s NS-31 mission. A historic event is set for April 14, as an all-female crew will be launched into space from West Texas. The team includes pop star Katy Perry , TV personality Gayle King, journalist Lauren Sanchez, NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bose, bioastronautics researcher Amanda Nguyen, and film producer Kerianne Flynn.
They will be part of Blue Origin’s NS-31 mission, which will travel beyond the Karman line, the official boundary of space. During their journey, the crew will experience weightlessness and witness stunning views of Earth from space. The mission, owned by Jeff Bezos, will be live-streamed, allowing viewers to watch this groundbreaking moment from home.
When And Where To Watch Blue Origin will stream the event live on its website before the launch window opens at 8:30 am CDT, which is 7:00 PM in India. While full details about the live event haven’t been shared yet, the launch is expected to be shown live on X (formerly Twitter) as well. On the other hand, Paramount Plus will also stream the complete launch and spaceflight.
For the NS-31 mission, Blue Origin has created a special patch featuring symbols that represent each of the women on board. One key symbol is a target-shaped star, symbolising Aisha Bowe’s aspirations of reaching high goals. Another prominent symbol is the scales of justice, representing Amanda Nguyen’s tireless work in fighting for civil rights, challenging unfair systems, and advocating for everyday people.
A shooting star-shaped microphone stands for Gayle King’s dedication to telling meaningful stories and connecting with people through journalism. A bright firework represents Katy Perry’s impact in music, entertainment and her charitable work. A film reel was added to show Kerianne Flynn’s love for filmmaking and storytelling.
The patch also features a fun detail from Lauren Sanchez’ children’s book, Flynn the Fly, the main character from The Fly Who Flew to Space..
