Katy Perry Comes Back To Earth After Singing On Space Trip

Katy Perry and her crewmates have safely returned to Earth after a brief voyage into space aboard Jeff Bezos’s Blue Origin rocket. The six-strong all-female crew consisted of Perry, Bezos’ fianceé Lauren Sánchez, broadcaster Gayle King, former NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bowe, civil rights activist Amanda Nguyen, and film producer Kerianne Flynn. The 11-minute suborbital flight, which launched from Blue Origin’s West Texas site shortly after 8.30am local time (2.30pm BST), carried the six women more than 100km above the Earth’s surface past the Kármán line, the internationally recognised boundary of space. Perry sung Louis Armstrong’s What a Wonderful World during the flight, something fellow passenger King described as a “highlight” of the trip to space. Upon returning to Earth the Firework singer noted that she felt "super connected to life" after the flight, adding that she "couldn't recommend this experience more". The rocket booster, a reusable component of Blue Origin’s New Shepard system, also made a successful vertical landing nearby.
