Katie Taylor secured a career-best payday for her unanimous decision victory over Amanda Serrano on Friday night. The undisputed super-lightweight champion successfully defended her titles after 10 gruelling rounds, with all three judges scoring the fight 95-94. Despite losing a point for a headbutt Taylor earned her second win over Serrano, following a split-decision victory in their historic first meeting at Madison Square Garden in 2022.

As the co-main event of the Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson card , the Irish star's bout was watched live by 50million households worldwide on Netflix. It is the kind of exposure that the two-weight undisputed champion deserves, and the 38-year-old earned millions for her triumph in Arlington, Texas. Jake Paul vs.

This represents a significant increase from her previous career-best purse – reportedly between $1m-$3m – when she moved up to super-lightweight for an undisputed title fight against Chantelle Cameron in 2023. Taylor avenged her first professional loss to Cameron last November, but her net worth was still listed at $3.7m before the Serrano rematch.

That was despite the 'Bray Bomber' having sponsorship deals with the likes of Gymshark, TIDL and others. However, Taylor's net worth has more than doubled to $9.7m after her latest win over Serrano.

Taylor began building her boxing legacy by winning gold at the 2012 Olympics and took another seven years to become undisputed lightweight champion. The Irish superstar may have moved up to face Cameron for all four belts at super-lightweight, but promoter Eddie Hearn has explained that Taylor is not motivated by money. "One of the problems commercially you have with Katie Taylor is the last thing she's ever going to be is a sell-out," Hearn said.

“She has turned down millions of pounds worth of endorsements over the years because she just won't do it." Following her epic bout with Serrano, Taylor will be forced to take some time off. Texas Department of Licensing and Registration have suspended the champion for a month.

With a mandatory three-day rest per round fought, she's looking at a 30-day layoff – barring any added injuries. Yet, this break will give Taylor an opportunity to revel in another win against Serrano. Dismissing the head-clash controversy that cost her a point, Taylor was unfazed by any complaints from Serrano's corner.

"It was completely accidental," Taylor said. "They're calling me a dirty fighter and whatever but that wasn't purposely done. Obviously I'm in there fighting like she is and it's a rough sport.

Sometimes you get head clashes. You have to fight through those things. This is the fight game.
