” This isn’t Griffin’s first experience with cancer. In August 2021, the actress was diagnosed with Stage 1 lung cancer . She underwent surgery to remove a portion of her left lung.

“Yes, I have lung cancer even though I’ve never smoked!” she wrote via Instagram at the time ahead of going into surgery. “Hopefully no chemo or radiation after this and I should have normal function with my breathing. I should be up and running around as usual in a month or less.

It’s been a helluva 4 years, trying to get back to work, making you guys laugh and entertaining you, but I’m gonna be just fine.” As Griffin began her recovery, she opened up about her fears of a potential relapse with prescription medication following her 2020 overdose. “I now know I can do this and anything I want without those devil pills,” she reflected in August 2021.
