The search for Bernardo’s childhood crush came about after she was asked during the April 6 episode of the Pilipinas Got Talent, which she hosts, who her first crush was, to which she replied that it was a certain boy named “Kenneth.
” Fans then began a rigorous search for “Kenneth,” with some of them going all the way back to her younger years as a preschooler in Cabanatuan City. It was there that Kenneth Hizon was located. A quick check found him as a nice-looking boy with neat hair and cute smile.
Add to the mix the fact that he grew up to become a successful doctor, with good looks, to boot. Fans went wild. And now, Hizon had his first interview.
The Cabanatuan-based physician made the confession on the April 12 broadcast of Frontline Pilipinas Weekend , that Bernardo was also his first crush, while admitting that he is currently single. “To be honest, siya din una kong naging crush,” he said. “Naalala ko sa kanya is masayahin siyang tao.
Kapag nakita mo siya, siya talaga ‘yung bright kid. Siyempre, maganda.” (To be honest, she was also my first crush.
I remembered her as someone bright. You immediately think of her as a bright kid. Of course, she is beautiful.
) The doctor also admitted that he wasn’t sure if he was indeed the “Kenneth” Bernardo was referring to, and that he was “overwhelmed” with the attention. “Siyempre, hindi lang naman siguro ako ang Kenneth [na naka-interact ni Kathryn sa Flowerlane school], pero noong ni-recall ko, parang ah, baka nga ako. Pero siyempre, hindi ko naman sinasabi na ako,” he said of his initial reaction, referring to the elementary school they used to attend.
“Nakakatuwa kasi ikaw ba naman ang maging crush ng isang Kathryn Bernardo...
Na-overwhelm lang talaga ako noong una. Pero so far, all good naman,” he continued. (Of course, I wasn’t the only Kenneth that Kathryn interacted with in Flowerlane.
But when I recalled it, it was me. I didn’t say it immediately that she was indeed referring to me. It makes me happy because imagine, I was the crush of Kathryn Bernardo.

He also pointed out that he will not use the actress’ name to be famous. “Hindi ko gagamitin si Kathryn sa pagiging famous kasi may pinagsamahan naman kami noong bata kami (I will not use Kathryn to be famous because we knew each other when we were kids),” he said. “Hello, Kath.
I’m hoping to meet you, and if your busy time will allow us, I’m hoping to catch [up] with you.” Bernardo and Hizon attended grade school together at the Flowerlane Montessori Children’s House in Cabanatuan, Nueva Ecija. The latter took up medicine at the Far Eastern University before continuing with his career as a licensed physician.
