Ukrainian-born wrestler Kateryna Zelenykh will win the first medal for Romania at the 2025 European Wrestling Championships in Bratislava, Slovakia, a silver after after losing on Thursday evening the women's freestyle 68 kg event final to Belarusian Alina Shevchuk. Zelenykh qualified directly into the quarterfinals, where she beat German Sophie Schaefle, and in the semifinals she defeated Czech Adela Hanzlickova. In women's freestyle 50 kg, compatriot Alina Grigore Vuc lost the bronze match to Belarusian Natalia Vorokina.

Vuc defeated Maria Leorda of Moldova in the qualifications, in the quarterfinals she defeated Lithuanian Gabija Dilyte, losing the semifinal to Turkish Evin Demirhan. In women's freestyle 55 kg, Beatrice Ionela Ferent defeated Azerbaijani Elnura Mamadova in the qualifcations, but lost the quarterfinal to Ukrainian Oleksandra Khomenets. Andreea Beatrice Ana made it to the women's freestyle 53 kg event final.



In women's freestyle 62 kg, Roxana Capezan defeated Lithuanian Ineta Dantaite in the round of 16, but lost the quarterfinal to Sweden's Johanna Lindborg, so she will play in the repechage Turkey's Selvi Ilyasoglu. Romanian Alexandra Anghel lost the women's freestyle 72 kg quarterfinals to Turkish Nesrin Bas, but she will play in the repechage Swedish Elvira Esmeralda Ersson..
