Reflecting on a deeply personal moment, Kate delved into the emotional exchange she had with her husband Derek Draper when they were preparing for their marriage. She recounted to the audience the time they visited John Lewis to compile their wedding list; it was then the question of what surname to use arose. "Derek burst into tears!" Kate disclosed.

'". However, Kate went on to admit that despite this touching memory, she ultimately did not go through with changing her surname. She spoke about an incident involving a flight booking mishap due to her passport being issued in the name 'Draper', highlighting the hassles such changes can entail and suggesting why fewer women opt for them nowadays, reports the Express .

She continued: "He did break his arm two weeks ago in three places, but thankfully, it was his left arm, so he can still write." On her daughter's progress, Kate expressed with pride: "Darcey is doing great.
She's in her first year of uni now," and then disclosed her courses with a touch of amazement: "Law and Criminology, so that's a bit scary, isn't it? She's up in Manchester."
