Qatar tribune Tribune News Network Doha On the second day of Eid Al-Fitr celebrations, the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) continued its dazzling events, attracting a large numbers of visitors to enjoy the festive atmosphere. Katara Corniche hosted a variety of events and activities that added a special joy to the Eid celebrations. Among the distinguished events that visitors enjoyed was the play ‘The Adventures of Adnan the Pirate - The Mind is a Blessing’, a children’s play that is part of what is known as street theatre.

The play was written by Dr Hanan Sadiq, directed by Ali Al-Khalaf, and starred a number of Qatari artists, including Ali Al Sharshani, Shahad Al Jassim, Faisal Al Jassim, and other young talents, in addition to the participation of a group of show artists. The melodies were by the Qatari Neymar Music Group. The play’s author, Dr Hanan Sadiq, said: “The play complements the other theatrical performances Katara has presented during various holidays.



It promotes values and principles in an artistic style that engages children and introduces them to the theatre with all its rich and diverse expressive potential.” She emphasised that the performances of this play attracted a large audience of children and families and achieved significant audience interaction, which is a testament to its success. The first performance of the play was presented on Katara Corniche at around 6:15pm, while the second performance began at 8:45pm.

Freej Katara also attracted a large number of visitors during Eid. Saeed Al Kuwari, from the Beach Administration, said that Fereej Katara is an old heritage neighbourhood that evokes the atmosphere of the authentic past, whether in its architecture or in the diverse shows and activities offered, including children’s workshops, competitions, and numerous prizes, in addition to the various participations of productive families and a number of craftsmen in various fields, evoking traditional markets with the aim of highlighting Qatari culture. The enchanting fireworks display also continued to attract large audiences.

Today, the third day of Eid, the final show will be held at 8:30pm on Katara Corniche, illuminating the sky with attractive colours, bringing joy and happiness to the hearts of those present. The Qatari Ardha also attracted spectators of various nationalities, as participants lined up in opposing rows, chanting enthusiastic songs that express pride in the leadership and the nation. Ardha is an essential part of Qatar’s cultural heritage, combining poetry with organised movement.

Among the most prominent activities presented during Katara’s Eid celebrations was the Police Music Band, whose members performed harmoniously, combining performance and rhythm in beautiful visual displays. This made this show one of the most impressive events that impressed the audience. The Asian and African folklore performances were also a draw for visitors, as artistic groups performed popular dances from various African countries, in addition to distinguished performances from Egypt and Syria.

These performances provided the opportunity for visitors to enjoy a rich cultural diversity. These performances created a multicultural artistic canvas that delighted and impressed the audience. Visitors expressed their great happiness with the cultural diversity offered by Katara.
