Although his captivating innings came in a losing cause, it won the hearts of cricket fans and pundits alike, with many requesting the BCCI and Indian selectors to reconsider him for the Indian team. After the match, Karun's wife, Sanaya Tankariwala Nair, took to Instagram to share their transformation in life.

Sanaya shared a photo story of herself and Karun wearing Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) jerseys from the 2017 edition of IPL. In her next story, she posted a photo story from the ongoing IPL with Karun and their two kids right after Sunday's match against Mumbai Indians. Karun played 14 matches in IPL 2017 and managed to score 281 runs.



In the IPL auction in November last year, Karun was signed by the Capitals for INR 50 lakh. Karun Nair played 14 games for Delhi during the 2017 season and scored 281 runs. This time around, he was picked by them during the mega auction ahead of the 2025 season.

Before coming into the IPL, Karun enjoyed a stellar domestic season, scoring tons of runs across all the formats and tournaments. And in his first match in IPL 2025, he maintained the tempo by scoring a beautiful 89-run knock at a strike rate of 222.50.

In 2017, he managed to score at a strike rate of 124.33. Although Delhi Capitals lost the match by 12 runs, Karun was applauded for his great innings.
