Bengaluru: Karnataka BJP chief Vijayendra Yediyurappa has strongly condemned the arrest of BJP leader CT Ravi, calling it “unpardonable”.

Ravi was taken into custody by Khanapur police on Thursday after an FIR filed against him. Yediyurappa questioned the police department’s attitude. He said that they had succumbed to pressure from the minister and the state government.



He also claimed that Ravi was injured during the arrest and not provided medical attention. BJP to stage protest “Speaker has already given the ruling on what CT Ravi said on the Floor of the House. We have to wait for the FSL report also,” Yediyurappa said.

“Is CT Ravi a terrorist? He is a respected MLC, former minister. The way state government has handled this entire issue is unpardonable.” He further said that BJP would be would protest across the stat to condemn the arrest and demanding action against the police department.

Ravi’s arrest sparks outcry BJP MLC City Ravi is facing charges of using obscene language against Minister Lakshmi Hebbalkar. He has been arrested and is to be brought to Bengaluru. However, there was huge drama in Belgaum late Thursday night.

As a result, the police spent about three to four hours driving City Ravi from one area to another in a car. Meanwhile, allegations have been made against the police for disregarding humanity and driving around despite City Ravi’s injuries, which included head wounds. The police transported City Ravi in a car, taking him through fields and gardens, including a deserted area in Belagavi district.
