Karachi’s roads once again became a headache for commuters this morning as a truck breakdown on the Malir Murghi Khana Bridge left hundreds stuck in a massive traffic jam. With office-goers and students on their way to start the day, the stalled truck threw a wrench in everyone’s plans, turning the commute into a stressful ordeal. The traffic moved at a snail’s pace, making it hard for people to reach their destinations on time.
Traffic police confirmed the chaos was due to a malfunctioning truck that broke down in the middle of the road. This unexpected incident created a bottleneck on the usually busy route, adding to the frustration of daily commuters who had to deal with the gridlock for hours. Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, taking note of the mess, directed the Karachi Additional IG to sort things out and make sure the traffic flow gets back to normal.
He emphasized the need for smooth traffic during morning rush hours, especially when people are rushing to reach their workplaces and schools. The Chief Minister wasn’t happy with the situation and made it clear that such disruptions should not become a routine thing. To tackle this, Murad Ali Shah suggested bringing in district police alongside traffic police during critical times if needed, so they can help clear choke points quickly and keep the traffic moving.
This step could make a real difference, especially in a city like Karachi where a small issue can spiral into major traffic problems in no time..
