Lucknow, November 9: In a disturbing case from Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur, two well-known teachers from a prominent coaching centre have been arrested for allegedly raping and blackmailing a minor student who had come to the city to prepare for her NEET medical entrance exam. The arrests followed a complaint filed by the survivor, who was emboldened to come forward after a video of one of the accused sexually harassing another student went viral. According to the report published by Bhaskar , the survivor, who enrolled in the coaching centre in 2022, reported that her biology teacher, Sahil Siddiqui, 32, invited her to a party at his house in January this year.
Upon arrival, she found herself alone with Siddiqui, who allegedly got her drunk, raped her, and filmed the act. Siddiqui then threatened to release the video and harm her family if she did not comply with his demands, leading to repeated assaults. NEET Student Forced to Drink Alcohol, Raped by Teachers in Kanpur The situation worsened when Siddiqui coerced her into attending more parties, during one of which she was raped by her chemistry teacher, Vikas Porwal, 39. The survivor was held hostage at Siddiqui’s flat for some time and was subjected to ongoing threats and abuse. The survivor managed to return home around Holi but was forced to return to Kanpur under threats from Siddiqui.
The turning point came when a video of Siddiqui allegedly harassing another student surfaced, leading to his arrest and subsequent bail. This incident gave the survivor the courage to file a police complaint on Thursday. A First Information Report (FIR) was registered on Friday, and both Siddiqui and Porwal were arrested the same night. Assistant Commissioner of Police Abhishek Pandey confirmed the arrests and stated that the accused are being questioned. The survivor, who was a minor at the time of the incidents, has requested privacy regarding further details.
