Kangaroo Cabs announced recently that it has rolled out tech upgrades to enhance customer convenience. The company introduced the country’s first Tap to Pay service, enabling passengers to pay for rides instantly by tapping Visa or Mastercard on drivers’ NFC-enabled phones, eliminating cash and POS terminals. Developed with Genie Business, the system auto-calculates fares, speeding up transactions and reducing disputes.

Additionally, Kangaroo Cabs revamped its website for seamless ride bookings—including airport pickups, tours, and trips—with features like real-time tracking and 24/7 support. A new loyalty program, Kangaroo Miles, rewards riders with 1 rupee per mile travelled, redeemable for future rides or purchases. Kusal Fonseka, Director of Finance, emphasised the upgrades’ role in boosting operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

“This is a leap forward in innovation,” he stated. The enhancements solidify Kangaroo Cabs’ position as a leader in modern, tech-driven transportation..
