Kaizer Chiefs did the most to support Nasreddine Nabi in terms of signing him the players he wanted, but was it enough?

The PSL January transfer window has slammed shut, and Kaizer Chiefs had an interesting one this time around. Perhaps, a number of their fans are disappointed with the club’s mid-season transfer dealings. And that’s because the club could not get all their targets while others may feel those signed are not of enough quality.

Well, it is difficult to argue with them given how inconsistent Chiefs have been since the start of the current campaign. Amakhosi are currently fifth on the Betway Premiership log with just 21 points from their opening 14 league games. And they look far off from being league title contenders this term, and while they are still in the Nedbank Cup, nobody is giving them a chance to lift the trophy.

Now, The South African takes a look at who Chiefs signed and which players they let go in January...

WHO’S IN AND WHO’S OUT AT KAIZER CHIEFS? After being linked with a whole lot of players, Amakhosi could only manage to bring in THREE new signings. Bafana Bafana star Oswin Appollis was heavily linked with possible move to Chiefs but Polokwane City were not willing to sell. The same can be said about Mamelodi Sundowns after Chiefs expressed interest in Thembinkoi Lorch.

Chiefs, though, sealed a deal to sign Tashreeq Morris from SuperSport United and Thabo Cele on a free transfer . The Soweto giants also signed Congolese attacker Glody Lilepo from French third-tier side Valenciennes. Meanwhile, Chiefs offloaded Christian Saile to SuperSport United on loan as part of the Morris deal .

Furthermore, Mduduzi Mdantsane moved to Richards Bay FC for the remainder of the season to reunite with Sabelo Radebe who’s also on loan from Chiefs. Perhaps, the one disappointing thing would be Bongani Sam ‘s failed move to Magesi FC on PSL transfer deadline day . ARE YOU HAPPY WITH AMAKHOSI’S TRANSFER DEALINGS?
