RAWALPINDI - Kahuta police here on Tuesday arrested a man for murder over the issue of marriage in Mowara village on the morning of the Eid-ul Fitr day. A spokesperson of the police said that the law enforcers using human and technological intelligence arrested accused Salman Nazeer for shooting dead Saeed Ahmed outside his house on the morning of March 31. The police said that the motive behind the murder was a marriage issue as the alleged killer wanted to have the hand of daughter of the deceased.
SP Sadar Muhammad Nabeel Khokhar said that the investigators would ensure that solid evidence was presented in the court against the arrested man. The police will make sure that the accused gets convicted in the case, the SP said. According to the content of the FIR, Muhammad Sheraz informed that the area police that the deceased Saeed, 60, was his first cousin.
He was shot dead by an unknown person early in the morning when he reached outside his house after visiting the area graveyard. He was shot in the head.
The complainant said that they took seriously wounded Saeed in a private car to THQ in Kahuta where he succumbed to his injuries. The police initially registered the murder case against unknown persons. However, later the investigation revealed that he was targeted by the accused as he was not happy with the deceased over the marriage issue.
