After School singer Kahi shared that she hit rock bottom after leaving the group and felt abandoned by her own company, but over the years, she took control of her life. Kahi, a former member of the popular K-pop group After School , recently opened up facing financial struggles after leaving the group. Despite starting her career as a dancer in 1999, it took her over a decade to debut as a singer.

Although she gained fame and fan support, the former idol chose to leave the group and worked solo. In 2016, she married and moved to Bali, where she lived for five years before returning to South Korea last year. Looking back on her difficult journey, Kahi shared that she hit “rock bottom," and felt abandoned by her own company.

Over the years, she took control of her life, which helped her to find stability and growth. Appearing on CGN‘s YouTube channel, Kahi said, “I’ve done everything I can. I got drunk.

I cried alone. This wandering, loneliness, depression and feeling something was so hard for me at that time. I just cried.

I quit asking and really hit rock bottom. It was so miserable that even my company couldn’t take care of me and I really suffered from financial difficulties. I felt that I had to live a religious life with a sense of responsibility.

As I started to earn money and live as a person of God with a sense of responsibility, I became a person whose sins gradually improved. My life began to change a lot." “When I was an idol, I really had to work hard to receive love, work hard, receive attention and be recognized.

I worked like crazy for that. But after I had a child, I’ve let go of everything and changed my focus entirely to my family, so this isn’t hard at all. Just looking at them makes me so happy and so thankful.

The world is beautiful," Kahi explained. Kahi talked about how busy her life was when she was part of After School. She travelled all around the country for events, barely got any rest, sometimes she slept only for 40 minutes at the dorm before heading out again.

She started her career as a dancer in 1999, working alongside well-known performers like Oh Ji-hyun, Lexy, Kim Hyun-jung and BoA. Watching them inspired her to become a singer, so she took a big risk and left dancing to focus on singing. Many people think she joined the girl group right away, but she actually faced many struggles.

She worked hard, but her career didn’t take off immediately. At one point, she disappeared from the industry and felt lost. She eventually got an offer from a company and worked hard for three more years before finally joining the girl group.

She felt like After School was the stage she had waited 10 years for. Despite their success, Kahi left the group and started her solo career. A few years later, she got married, had a baby and experienced many changes, which she compares to a movie.

Other than Kahi, After School included Jungahm, Uee, Nana, Jooyeon, Bekah, Soyoung, Raina, E-Young, Lizzy and Kaeun..
