RAJAHMUNDRY: For the first time in the history, a davit IAS officer from Konaseema district in undivided East Godavari district has been appointed as the Controller of Auditor General of India. The President of India, Draupadi Murmu had appointed K Sanjay Murthy as the CAG of India. Sanjay Murthy is IAS officer from Himachal cadre.
He had assumed charge from Himachal Pradesh cadre and he is performing his duties as secretary for the higher education in the Central cabinet. Sunjay Murthy is going to assume the charge as CAG on 21 of this month. The tenure of present CAG, Girish Chandra is going to be expired by 20 th of this month.
He is the son of former Amalapuram MP, KSR Murthy. As far as the new CAG’s life is concerned, Sunjay Murthy as born on 24 th of December, 1964. He completed Mechanical Engineering and he was selected under Himachal Pradesh in Civil services.
He worked in forest, environment and IT ministry between 2002 and 2007. He did also work in National Institute for Smart Governance for three years. He is performing duties as secretary in Higher Education at the Centre from October, 2021.

K Sanjay Murthy appointed as India's first IAS CAG from Konaseema
K Sanjay Murthy, an IAS officer from Himachal Pradesh, has been appointed as the new Controller of Auditor General of India. Murthy, son of former Amalapuram MP KSR Murthy, will assume office on February 21st, succeeding Girish Chandra. He is currently serving as the Secretary for Higher Education in the Central cabinet.
