PHILADELPHIA -- Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Justin Fields suffered an abdomen injury against the Philadelphia Eagles and is out for the rest of the game. Fields suffered the injury on his lone run of the game. On the play, Fields slid late and was hit by Eagles safety Reed Blankenship.
Fields were not immediately down on the field and showed no discomfort. However, that injury was reported in the second half, and Fields has not played since suffering that injury. Russell Wilson has taken all of the snaps, but the Steelers have liked to use the Fields package as a changeup in the offense.
Instead, that is out of the equation for the Steelers for the rest of the game after the injury. Fields joins cornerback Donte Jackson as the other player who will be out for the rest of the game. Jackson aggravated his back injury that he suffered last week against the Cleveland Browns.
James Pierre is playing in his place.
