Red Bull hiring Jurgen Klopp as their 'global head of soccer' means the former Liverpool manager will return to football in the new year for the first time since leaving Anfield this summer Jurgen Klopp has joined Red Bull months after his advisor, Marc Kosicke, rubbished reports claiming his client would become the company’s new head of football. Rumours in Austria, where the company is based, emerged this summer, but Kosicke robustly denied them then. The reports arose less than a month after Klopp ’s last match as Liverpool manager, on the final day of the 2023/24 Premier League season, at Anfield against Wolves .

German-language daily newspaper Salzburger Nachrichten reported that Klopp would be the new head of Red Bull’s portfolio of football clubs. But days before the manager’s 57th birthday, Kosicke shot down the speculation. Speaking to Sky , Klopp’s advisor bluntly shut down the rumours.

“The team is incredibly young but incredibly skilled. “Again, they kind of change every year; they sell players but are still a good team. It’s really interesting what they are doing.

“The football philosophy is not too far away from ours as well. Intense, high press everywhere, counter-press.”.
